At the University of North Carolina at Asheville, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute provides 'Shared Interest Groups' or SIGs for the 50+ community.

Members of the Apple SIG at UNCA OLLI provide those who are new or seasoned users of all things Mac and Apple including laptops, desktops, watches, iPhones, iPads and iPods, with updated information, tips and tools for getting the most out of the devices and their associated applications. This is a forum for learning and practicing best uses for Apple products.

Through the Trees, a local non-profit organization, is at the forefront of bridging the digital divide in Transylvania County.
